Thoughtful Interval is about pausing and reflecting – pausing from routine, conventional thought and conformity and reflecting on life and the bigger picture.

My name is Parag Dalal and I’m the writer of this blog. After working for ten years for a big corporation in Los Angeles, California, I was disillusioned by the cycle of earning and consuming. I was living my life as though it would never end, putting life plans off for the future. So I decided to quit my job and travel the world with no end date. Having lived for 25 years in India and then spending 10 years in the USA, my brain seems to have a switch marked “East/West”. Trivially, it controls my driving a car or a scooter, on the left or the right side of the street, when I do (or don’t do) my Indian head shake and which English accent I use. More importantly though, it gives me a unique perspective on the situations I get myself into or things happening around me or in this world.
